February: Heart Month

February is when we celebrate Valentines! This is the time of the year when we think of the people we love – and we think about the heart. Heart health is critical for quality of life and quantity of life. Our vision in this office is to help your body get stronger on every level. So here’s my tips for heart health.
Power Flow – a healthy and balanced nerve system allows all muscles and organs to work better. A clinical study published in the Journal of Hypertension from 2007 found gentle and specific Chiropractic helped patients stabilize their blood pressure. Be regular with your care.
Power Moves – to keep your body strong and your blood pressure in check – you need to move. Depending on your health level this may mean walking, jogging or even lifting weights. In fact a University of Iowa study done in 2018 found lifting weights for less then 1 hour a week helped reduce heart attack or stroke from 40 to 70%! That’s amazing! Exercise at least 5 times a week.
Power Foods – from the Cleveland Clinic Health Essentials website an article dated July 2019 found the best food for the heart include eating fish (salmon), nuts (almonds or walnuts), and berries (blueberries, strawberries). Make sure these foods fit into your lifestyle.
