Posture has a huge impact on your health and well-being. It can impact everything from mental and emotional health, breathing, digestion, flexibility and can even determine the rate of degeneration along the spine. Our office is here to help you keep your posture as healthy as possible.
  • How can posture get affected? Posture is impacted by a lifetime of slips and falls – but the major contributor of poor posture is using a computer and smartphone. Whether it’s for work, school or just having fun – hours of using a computer can really cause poor posture. I am especially concerned for the younger generation as their computer use is very high and kids are using a computer at a younger and younger age than ever before.
  • Best time to do posture correction exercises? First thing in the morning and the last thing before bed. If you use a computer heavily you need to get up and stretch every hour. And remember these stretches are to be done forever. Just like brushing your teeth.
  • The best stretches for posture? Focus on extension exercises where your body goes in a backward motion. Always see what you can tolerate. One of the best posture stretches is bringing your head back and arms back at the same time. You can also use a towel, broom or exercise ball to assist you in stretching for stability.
